Just to change things up a little, here's the old UPC release, which was a re-issue of the even older Frog model, of the R-100 with mooring mast. The base and trees are scratchbuilt.
After R101 crashed, there was brief talk of building the fleet as planned, but using the simpler and successful R100 design. Unfortunately, several of the main proponents of the air fleet went down with R101, and competing ideas quickly took hold in Parliament. Sad, but not unexpected.
She had nothing going for her except doing everything they ever asked. Hence, scrapped.
Which was a real shame. You know, it surprises me that no one has built a full size replica of an rigid airship in the classic style. Just think of all that advertising space!
Glad it's "Rainbow" approved!
Wow, I haven't seen this kit built up in decades! Very nicely done!
Wow! Looks great! I never even knew an injection molded kit of the R-100 existed. You sure do great justice to the various models you share here!
It's a great kit and I believe that it was re-released not too long ago. Glad you like it!
wow, this is one incredible diorama! wicked fantastic work!
