The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms by godzillabadger The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms by godzillabadger
My first resin kit, this is an Alternative Images release(as was the Gwangisaurus)and was a joy to build. Painting it, on the other hand, was a pain as there are no true color images of "The Beast", so I kept experimenting until I thought it looked right.

Thanks, glad you enjoy it! I have plans (for this and Gwangisaurus) of doing some updated photos, with "The Beast" in a diorama setting and shot in black and white. Once I get a certain bomber done, that is...:D

They did back in '98. They just called it "Godzilla" for some reason... :D

Thanx! The "hand tinted" lobby card was about all I could find as far as reference material regarding the color scheme. And I seem to remember Harryhausen himself stating that the original animation puppet was green, although I was unable to find the quote. Kinda wish the washes on this would have turned out a little better, but otherwise, I'm happy with it. It was definitely a joy to build!

I think that quote might have been from some of the bonus material on one of the Hausen dvds, Again it might have been. But yeah dude, I think it looks pretty sweet and accurate to the original creature. Again very nice work my friend

I agree completely, it's just a shame that GINO wasn't nearly as entertaining as "The Beast".
